Second Comes Marriage...

The Wedding

I choked on my dinner the night my fiancé said he wanted to get married before the end of the year. That was only three months away! I was confident that I could pull all the details together, but was extremely worried about finding a location. I scoured our city, other cities, and everywhere in between. When we would find a location we liked, it was booked. When we would find a location available it was awful, and not for us. Finally, I suggested our home. He initial thought I was crazy. "But our house would more than accommodate the number of guests we're inviting and it will be cozy. It'll be an intimate formal affair" I'd argue. He eventually began to love the idea as well {with a little nudge}. We decided New Years Eve would be the perfect date, and a wonderful way to celebrate the start of our new life together as husband and wife. Plus, we would forever have a festive anniversary full of confetti and champagne.

And just as it always does...everything fell right into place.  I will never be able to explain the warmth I felt as I walked into our front room. It was full of friends and family, people who had traveled far and wide to share with us this special day. Saying it was magical would be selling it short. It was spellbinding.
